Joan Cauzillo
Owner of Azenza, Joan has many years of experience behind her. She has attended Vidal Sassoon twice, as well as countless other industry seminars and continued training. Joan's passion for the hair business is evidenced in her great work and client following. She is also dedicated to involving the salon in community local events and charities.
Suzanne Pachla
Has been in the beauty industry for years and excels in all aspects of her work. Suzanne is dedicated to perfection when it comes to finishing each client's look. Suzanne enjoys challenges and always rises to the occasion.
Carolynne Porter
Carolynne brings to AZENZA a vast knowledge, with training from Vidal Sassoon and many other academys. She has been doing hair in the Birmingham area for many years.
Jennifer Smith
Jennifer brings 17 years of experience and has done extensive training in advanced hair color. Jennifer is also currently enrolled in the Goldwell Ambassador Program, with aspirations to become a national educator. Jennifer's favorite product is Goldwell's Brilliance line. Her favorite hobby is spending time with her two children.
Joanne Strzalka
Joanne has been doing hair for 28 years. Having attended advanced training in several areas, her travels have included Martin Parsons, Antoine's in Canada and many classes in Redken.
Her favorite stying product is Brocato Maximum Hold hair spray. When asked about her future career goals, Joanne is interested in pursuing salon management.
Kendra Wagner
Kendra Wagner began her training at the Aveda Institute in Ann Arbor. While there, she learned the art of relaxation and the giving of a "complete experience" for each client. As trained, Kendra offers a relaxing scalp massage and shampoo with every visit.
Continuing her training, Kendra assisted a top stylist to hone and perfect her skills behind the chair. As a certified Martin Parsons stylist, Kendra utilizes their special technique to flatter a client's face shape and accentuate their best features. Her trained eye helps design cutting styles which achieve these superior results.
Clients describe Kendra as "innovative, creative, attentive to individual needs". They add, "she listens to what you ask for" and "she has an eye for what will suit you".
When we asked Kendra to comment on her philosophy she stated, "I believe that investing in yourself and your hair is necessary to being your most confident self and putting your best foot forward in life. I look forward to creating a style and look that accentuates your best features while fitting your lifestyle".
Melissa Lemay
Melissa joined AZENZA in the fall of 2008. Since then she has proven herself to be a true artist when it comes to her craft. She is completely focused and attentive to her clients needs and wants. She delivers expert cuts and colors, and she has a self-confidence that convinces the client that she knows what is best for them, while taking into consideration their wants.
Sarah Benish
A recent graduate as Azenza's apprenticeship program Sarah has grown into an amazing colorist and upstyle guru.
Sarah has also been teaching dance for many years. One day, it is her hope to somehow bridge her loves of Dance and Beauty to create something "lovely".
Scott Foltz
A gifted hairdresser and makeup artist, Scott has been in the hair industry since 1999. He is a former Cosmetic Art Team member of Toni and Guy. Currently, he is the Creative Director for Mirror Call Cosmetics (here at AZENZA).
Scott places great value on training, evidenced by his extensive training including Toni and Guy in Dallas, Texas; with Vidal Sassoon in London, England; with Pivot Point in Chicago; and finally with Temptu Cosmetics in New York City.
Scott's best work is found on his clients he has come to know. These clients can literally tell him, "Do what you want" and know the result will be something new and exciting while still maintaining their goals, style and personality. Scott enjoys precision cuts and loves shattered, loose creative cutting. Scott describes the ideal client as someone looking for a long-term hairdresser who can grow and customize their evolving style throughout the years.
Scott is constantly inspired by runway, magazine and Hollywood. His favorite celebrity inspirations are Drew Barrymore, Gwen Steffani and Victoria Beckham. His favorite product is DermOrganics Argon Oil. This product creates shine, smoothness and protection from the blow dryer. It's great for prepping the hair for any look, length and texture. Scott loves to finish with a cool shot from the blow dryer to give more shine, smoothness and fluff.
Ultimately, Scott would love to work on more photo shoots creating hair and makeup looks that help inspire others.

-Stylist Joining the Azenza team with over 10yrs of experience and a love for continued education, Valerie has an ease for comunicating with clients and enhancing their natural beauty. A graduate of Douglas J. Aveda Institute and completion of Vidal Sassoon Advanced Academy awards her with the technical skills and eye for creating beauty.

“ I believe in enhancing one’s own natural beauty. That’s probably why I never cared for the word ‘Make-Over’ & what that may imply! Literally I starting working with makeup at the age of five. (Don’t think my Mom was to happy to find her products filled with little paw prints) . Needless to say I haven’t stopped since.
All these years later, with the help & guidance of wonderful teachers & mentors I cannot be any more grateful for this journey. I am truly blessed to work with people everyday--- & never feel like I’m working. I can share my gift & help bring joy in the process.

No fluff and buff here! Monet specializes in offering the perfect touch to what the body needs rather u need deep work or a more relaxing therapeutic approach. Monet brings to Azenza more than 5 years of experience. She received her education at Everest Institute graduating at the top of her class. She also continued to train focusing on deep tissue sculpting. Monet is trained in several modalities of massage including hot Stone Therapy, Myofacial Release, reflexology, and craniosacral therapy to name a few.
